Seroquel and Benzodiazepine Withdrawal Success

And now as I am leaving Alternative to Meds Center, I am able to be off all prescription medications.

I had been on Seroquel for 4½ years and occasionally using benzodiazepines before I came to Alternative to Meds Center. I had always hoped that someday I would be able to get off Seroquel and quit taking benzodiazepines. But, I could never figure out how to carve out the time and get the proper support. I started to experience strange neurological symptoms and suspected they were caused by the meds. I had this general sense of not feeling well.

To try to alleviate the neurological symptoms, I began to taper off Seroquel and benzodiazepines on my own. My psychiatrist was not knowledgeable about how to taper and did not know anything about withdrawal or how to help it. When I was tapering on my own, I still had the troubling neurological symptoms and overall feeling of not being well but on top of that had Seroquel withdrawal symptoms – physical and emotional.

At that point I felt too exhausted to coordinate my own care so I needed a place where all of the care was in one place. After being here at Alternative to Meds Center for 2 weeks, I felt more naturally energized than I had in years. The uncomfortable neurological symptoms seemed to be gone. A lot of the general aches and pains of my body were gone as well. And now as I am leaving Alternative to Meds Center, I am able to be off all prescription medications.

I really liked Catherine’s knowledge of supplements and how it relates to mental health. I have been in holistic medicine communities before so I already had a general knowledge but Catherine’s supplement class was beyond anything I had ever encountered. The supplements made my taper doable. I have a lot of hope going home with the supplements. I am a psychotherapist and will be more likely to encourage my own clients to seek holistic support for themselves after having a personal experience that really worked.
