Restoril Withdrawal

This entry was posted in Uncategorized on by .

Restoril Withdrawl and Rebound Symptoms

InsomniaA person who has become dependent on a benzodiazepine for falling asleep may find Restoril withdrawal will, at least for a time, tend to intensify their symptoms due to “rebound insomnia.”1  While rebound insomnia is directly and frequently linked to benzodiazepines, this is a common characteristic of many drugs, where, generally, the initial symptoms that a drug was taken to suppress may come back with a vengeance once the drug is reduced or stopped.

The serenity of a heroin high is the total opposite of the indescribably loathsome feeling of heroin withdrawal. Virtually every drug that alters mood will eventually start to produce the opposite effects, whether it was prescribed or street-sourced.

Treatment Should Make Life Better Not Worse

While Restoril can help a person fall asleep within minutes, it may not be the best solution when looking at the whole picture. While it is true that benzodiazepines are really good bandaids, they are total failures if you are looking for a cure.

And, because of the short time benzos can be taken due to their waning efficacy, the ultimate need for Restoril withdrawal makes using benzodiazepines very much like kicking the can down the road.  At some point, drug-free solutions can make life better instead of worse.

Personal Counseling Segment

Trained counselors provide individual help to clients in many genres and styles of treatment to help resolve issues of social, family or personal stress. Life coaching is another example of this type of assistance and can be life-changing. A common example shared by many is that Insomnia could be linked to actual real-time life stressors, relationship, financial, work-related or other worries and these can be addressed in counseling using various techniques to resolve these issues so they are not interfering with sleep.

Searching For Root Causes

Alternative to Meds Center bases its programs on several fundamentals, one of which is helping the client to discover root causes for troublesome symptoms, as opposed to simply masking the problem temporarily with drugs. Alternative to Meds Center feels that rather than looking for a “better” drug to handle original symptoms, the more long-term successful approach is to search for and resolve root causes.

Neurotoxic Cleansing and Proper Dietary Changes

Another example is that insomnia may be the result of poor diet, as well as a need to cleanse toxic build-up which often leads to a dysfunctional microbiome. The gut (microbiome) is where most of the necessary sleep hormones are produced, so ensuring this area is unburdened of toxic elements that are detrimental to healthy and robust neurochemistry, is essential. The microbiome is often referred to as the “second brain.” Having it in top condition is key to natural mental health.

Testing for nutritional deficits, and for any unwanted neurotoxic body burden, is done right at the beginning of the program. A thorough cleansing process as well as providing a clean nutrient-rich diet are the first logical steps needed to correct these issues where the testing shows that they are present. These actions can have a significant stabilizing effect and provide a good launch point for medication withdrawal.

There is much to learn about how addressing neurotoxicity and making good dietary choices can affect human neurochemistry. There is a comprehensive and fascinating educational segment of the program so that clients can learn much more about these subjects.

This knowledge can be empowering, helping each client to understand more than they ever thought possible about supporting and safeguarding the brain against further injury and helps to ensure continued success for natural mental health in the future.

Gradual and Gentle Restoril Withdrawal Under 24/7 Care

The FDA and other drug experts caution against coming off benzodiazepines too rapidly. Despite how quickly dependency on sedatives can occur, the body needs ample time to adjust to less and less of the drug in the system. Otherwise, the withdrawal symptoms may become just too harsh to be tolerated and may linger far longer than anticipated, and the person may not be able to withstand the side effects of Restoril withdrawal.2

One of the more concerning side effects of Restoril and similar drugs is the sometimes bizarre behavior that can present while taking benzodiazepines, such as sleep-driving, sleep-sexing, hallucinations, irrational or out-of-character behavior or other examples of drug-induced disinhibition. For these reasons, it is best to have 24/7 care to avoid potential injury or other risks.

Special Note Regarding Pregnancy and Restoril

Women should know that Restoril can cause birth defects if pregnancy occurs while taking the drug but often are not apprised of such information when receiving a prescription. Sex and benzodiazepines do not make good companions under any circumstances.3
