Carisa is a recent transplant from Portland, Oregon. She lives on her family’s ranch near Sedona while she attends Northern Arizona University for her Bachelors of Science degree in Nursing. She plans to work in healthcare abroad as a nurse in the Peace Corps. While her current studies primarily involve western allopathic medicine, she is very passionate about the holistic approach to health and wellness. Her enthusiasm for healing that goes beyond medicating or masking symptoms is what brought her to ATMC. “Working on this side of medicine is an important addition to my studies.”

When Carisa is not studying or working, she spends her time taking care of the animals on her family’s ranch. Goats, chickens, ducks, dogs, peacocks, and turkeys make for a hectic and happy home life.
