Angela F. Bassett
Clinical Director

Angela F. Bassett, a graduate of Grand Canyon University, has been a licensed Addictions Professional in Arizona since 2017. She is a certified EMDR psychotherapist, acupuncturist, and 500-hour yoga teacher specializing in Yoga and Mindfulness for Mental Health and Recovery. Her extensive training includes Somatic Experiencing and holistic approaches to emotional and spiritual healing.

With over seven years of experience in Community Mental Health, Angela previously served as Clinical Supervisor for a Dual-Diagnosis program at Spectrum Healthcare Group. She holds an M.S. in Addictions Counseling and began her career teaching Reiki and intuitive healing workshops. Her passion for integrating Eastern psychology into clinical work led her to pursue advanced training in Somatic Experiencing, EMDR, and Acudetox (a form of auricular acupuncture for trauma, stress, and addiction recovery).

Angela also incorporates Internal Family Systems theory into her practice and currently offers individual therapy and intensive outpatient groups focused on substance abuse recovery, relapse prevention, yoga, mindfulness, and Acudetox. As Clinical Director at ATMC, she emphasizes evidence-based and holistic practices, ensuring staff are well-trained to provide comprehensive support for clients.

Lisa Green, DNP, PMHNP
Medical Director

Dr. Lisa Green is a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with over 15 years of experience in the field and more than a decade of academic training. As Medical Director at the Alternative to Meds Center, she brings a unique blend of expertise in both conventional psychiatric care and integrative, nutrition-based approaches to mental health.

Dr. Green specializes in the diagnosis and medication management of complex mental health conditions, including ADHD, anxiety, depression, and dual diagnoses involving substance use. Her clinical focus is on helping individuals who have struggled to find lasting solutions on their own and are ready for a personalized, expert-led path toward meaningful change.

Her treatment philosophy is holistic and client-centered, combining evidence-based pharmacological care with nutritional psychiatry and supportive counseling. She is committed to creating a compassionate, nonjudgmental space where clients feel empowered to take an active role in their healing journey.

At the Alternative to Meds Center, Dr. Green oversees medical services with a strong emphasis on integrative mental health, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to support the whole person—mind, body, and spirit.

Dr. Daniela Hutyrova, NMD
Director of Naturopathic Medicine

Dr. Daniela Hutyrova, or Dr. D as some of her patients like to call her, has been practicing integrative medicine for over 20 years and has helped hundreds of people understand and heal the root cause of their health issues.

Born and raised in Europe, the cradle of contemporary western holistic medicine, she received her Ph.D. in Ecology and Environmental Protection from the highly respected Comenius University in Czechoslovakia. Her early work experiences included acting as Director for the Environmental Protection Department of the National Building Industry where she prepared environmental impact reports for the National Institute of Health and proposed new production procedures to lower levels of pollution. She initiated regular public lectures on nutrition and disease prevention at the National Sanitarium for stress related diseases, also in Czechoslovakia, where she met prominent scientists and physicians from all over Europe and developed a keen interest in holistic medicine.

After arriving in the United States, Dr. Hutyrova received her medical degree from the Southwest College of Naturopathic Medicine and Health Sciences and then opened a private holistic practice in the White Mountains, Arizona. Later, she founded the Pante Rhei Wellness Center in Cottonwood, Arizona. The name Pante Rhei reflects eternal processes in nature first described by Greek philosopher Heraclitus. Pante Rhei means constant and eternal flux like the continuous flow of the river which always renews itself. Dr. Hutyrova applies this ancient philosophy in her practice where change is possible and there are no incurable diseases/conditions. Dr. Hutyrova’s mantra: Nothing is impossible because healing waters go ever flowing on … Pante Rhei!

She has also completed many other certifications over the years including training in cancer treatment with Dr. Donato Perez Garcia in IPT (insulin potentiation therapy), administering oxidative therapies, and noninvasive esthetic medicine from a prestigious clinic in Italy.

Dr. Hutyrova is known as an expert in the realm of stress-related disorders, adrenal fatigue, and bioidentical hormone replacement therapy. She’s also earned herself the title of “IV Queen” because of the nutritional intravenous therapies she has been administering for the majority of her career. “IV therapy is almost magical,” Dr. Hutyrova says, “There is no better and more efficient way to get nutrients into the body, and even a simple saline drip can make a world of difference.”

Another aspect of her practice that sets Dr. Daniela Hutyrova apart is her use of bio-resonance technology. The process involves identifying and removing blocks that prevent one from enjoying perfect health and happiness. These blocks can be anything from heavy metal toxicity, nutritional imbalances, vitamin and mineral deficiencies, hormonal fluctuations, to mental and emotional struggles and even old genetic/ancestral patterns. While these assessments themselves are incredibly beneficial, the doctor’s ability to make coherent sense of the results is imperative. Dr. Hutyrova has an incredible ability to make connections between seemingly unrelated issues that appear in the test results and put together a treatment plan tailored to the individual.

At the end of the day, that is the essence of integrative medicine — the understanding that individual solutions are important because human beings are all different and a one size fits all approach cannot work effectively in medicine. Dr. Hutyrova brings her years of experience to every interaction with her patients and has a way of explaining things in a way that is compassionate and easy to understand and act upon.

Beth Avakian, RN, BSN, NMD
Naturopathic Doctor

Beth Avakian – RN, BSN & NMD

Degrees and Licenses
Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing from University of Washington
Naturopathic Doctor from Southwest College of Naturopathic Medicine & Health Sciences (SCNM)
Currently in school at Morningside University to earn her Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP)

Beth is a credentialed RN, BSN, & NMD, mother of two children, who holds two part-time jobs, while also going to school to further her education and become a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP). In her free time, she enjoys exercising, traveling, reading and hanging out with her family.

Currently Beth works at ATMC part-time, and also works at Mission of Mercy in Phoenix, AZ as Naturopathic Doctor. Her previous work experience includes various medical settings including intensive care, cardiac nursing, endocrinology, and more. During her NMD studies, Beth learned about many alternative modalities such as acupuncture, Chinese medicine, botanical medicine, physical medicine, and much more.

Beth shared that she became interested in holistic and alternative health because she noticed that there was a huge number of patients that she saw who were not getting better with traditional medicine. When she would ask other professionals in her field if they considered looking at their diet and nutrition, or trying meditation or yoga, or environmental medicine, she was often told those approaches were not viable solutions, and that the patients would need to be on medications forever. She went into naturopathic medicine as she saw it as a way to open up “a much larger tool box, offering a greater variety of approaches to support patients in getting their health and wellness back, restoring balance in their mind and body” all of which could enable them to eventually live medication free.

When asked what she most enjoys about ATMC, Beth shared that she appreciates the family like atmosphere of the staff, loves seeing our clients recover and get better, and enjoys working in a healthy, holistic environment that promotes an approach to health that aligns with her own beliefs and experience.

By treating the root cause, he helps clients to see the true cause of their illness rather than the labels they may have been given previously. He enjoys working at ATMC because of the passion that all staff members have to help residents to succeed in their goals. He also enjoys the family environment of the team and the positive intention and commitment of each staff member to truly help residents to get better.
