Xanax Withdrawal

Xanax Withdrawal

This entry was posted in Uncategorized on by .
It is uncommon for medical professionals to truly have the expertise to navigate Xanax withdrawal. Alternative to Med Center’s program helps our clients achieve safe, gentle Xanax withdrawal and better health overall during their stay with us.

A prescription of Xanax or another benzodiazepine may have been the correct choice during a crisis, however, a person should not always have to remain medicated for life, especially with a declining benefit-to-risk ratio.

Are you really your Diagnosis?

Alternative to Meds has been the expert on Xanax withdrawal for over 15 years, and we have published evidence regarding our success. Underlying issues can in many cases be addressed in much less toxic ways than harsh drugs. We frequently observe that there were missed medical conditions, or that some of the original factors that contributed to the person’s crisis have since changed, or the person could have been diagnosed prematurely. Being misdiagnosed is not at all uncommon.

Xanax users do not need to suffer fierce symptoms of Xanax withdrawal. We have clinically proven ways to make side effects and symptoms fade into the past.  Alternative to Meds Center knows that there are superior ways to feel good and once again engage in life without needlessly suffering from Xanax side effects and the symptoms of Xanax withdrawal.

Considering Xanax Withdrawal?

Xanax withdrawal can seem incredibly overwhelming, too daunting to try without proper advice, guidance and therapeutic support along the way. At the same time, Xanax addiction or dependence can be ruinous. Often a person is already in a weakened condition when it comes to the point of making a decision about Xanax withdrawal. Always try and find the right support that you can surround yourself with so that you have every chance of success.1

There are several crucial points to keep in mind about coming off a benzodiazepine. The first is, of course, not to be too aggressive about the timeline. A gentle slow taper is medically recommended. But another key point is finding effective ways to prevent the possibility of symptoms returning. Xanax may have been prescribed for insomnia, for example, so when Xanax withdrawal is occurring one might experience what is termed “rebound insomnia.” Alternative to Meds Center is familiar with this phenomenon and provides ample non-drug-based therapies and natural and food-based remedies to intervene and compensate to a marked degree so sleep deprivation or poor quality sleep doesn’t have to become an additional barrier to recovery.

In a similar way, where Xanax was used to quell anxiety, it is likely that some “rebound anxiety” may occur either early on or at some later point during the withdrawal.

The center has an impressive roster of adjunctive therapies, techniques, strategies regarding nutritional supplements, social support, individual counseling, peer support, trainer-led exercise classes, life coaching, Reiki, yoga, stress-relief training and classes on nutrition and neurochemistry, as well as cranial-sacral massage, dietary recommendations and many other ways to effectively reduce this troubling characteristic of Xanax withdrawal.

Common Adverse Effects of Xanax Withdrawal

The common symptoms that can occur during Xanax withdrawal are, as mentioned above, returning insomnia or sleep disturbances, more intensified anxiety, and also one may experience a variety of physical and mental discomforts. These can include irritability, nausea, mood swings, involuntary movement, sweating, headaches, and a potential host of others.

During a client’s withdrawal from Xanax at Alternative to Meds Center, micro-adjustments are commonly made to smooth out reactions where it would be helpful to do so, and other therapies are made available to quieten these symptoms. This can make the whole experience much more tolerable. Having 24/7 care and attention makes this aspect of the program very helpful. A client has the whole team behind them to soften and reduce the side effects that can crop up during withdrawal from benzodiazepines.

Toxicity and Anxiety, Depression, Insomnia

The effects of environmental toxicity on the central nervous system, including compromised physical and mental health, have been closely studied. What studies show is that toxicity in the body can adversely affect the neurotransmitters and hormones that are responsible for sleep, for proper organ functioning, also for regulating digestion, body temperature, energy, and so many other functions.2

To address this liability, removal of neurotoxic elements from the body has shown to be highly effective in normalizing and improving these functions. Neurotoxicity can be cleaned out of the body using non-invasive methods that are gentle easy to tolerate, and will significantly improve sleep, digestion, appetite, energy levels, and can even out unwanted dips or spikes in mood. Testing for the presence of toxic elements (heavy metals, pollutants, chemical residues, etc.) is done right at the beginning of the program in order to investigate and resolve this factor right away. When the client is somewhat stabilized, feeling ready, the taper process can then gently begin.

Nutrition: Authentic Aspects of Recovery

Nutrition is another key principle that greatly helps to make drug withdrawal less of a shock and helps the body to make the gradual transition back to being drug-free.

Testing is also done to investigate deficiencies and these can be corrected with proper (tailored) diet and supplements so the body has what it needs so it can operate at a more optimum level. Many studies have been done which show that nutrition plays a vital role in recovery after drug dependency and even during the withdrawal process itself.3

All of our therapies are science-based, and they all play a part in our client’s recovery.
